Cookie Policy
The browser-storage categories RuleGate uses, what remains optional, and how to change your choices.
How RuleGate uses browser storage
RuleGate uses cookies and similar browser storage for secure sessions, account continuity, local Demo Preview data, theme preferences, checkout integrity, and consent choices. Some storage is necessary for the Service; optional categories require your choice.
The current consent version is 1.0. A material change to purposes or categories will increment this version and request a new choice.
Strictly Necessary
Always active. This category supports authentication, session continuity, account security, checkout integrity, fraud and abuse prevention, consent storage, and essential local application state.
Rejecting optional categories does not disable Supabase authentication or prevent use of RuleGate. The first-party consent cookie is named rulegate_consent_v1 and normally lasts up to 180 days unless replaced, cleared, or a new consent version is required.
Preferences
Optional preference storage may remember display, theme, timezone, or convenience settings that are not essential. User-requested settings saved as part of an account or Demo Preview may still be needed to provide the requested feature.
Analytics
Optional analytics may later measure product use, performance, errors, and conversions. RuleGate does not currently initialize a third-party analytics provider through this consent system.
Any future analytics adapter must remain disabled until Analytics consent is explicitly enabled.
Marketing / Advertising
Optional marketing storage may later support pixels, remarketing, behavioural advertising, affiliate attribution, sponsored-campaign measurement, campaign information, and advertising identifiers.
No marketing or advertising provider is installed by this release. Private journals, trading behaviour, screenshots, and integration credentials are not sold or exposed to advertisers. Behavioural targeting from private trading data would require a separate, explicit decision and policy update.
Your choices
- Accept all enables Preferences, Analytics, and Marketing.
- Reject non-essential leaves every optional category off.
- Customize lets you choose each optional category separately.
- No optional category is preselected for a first-time visitor.
- You can reopen Cookie settings and withdraw consent at any time.
Withdrawal and clearing
When consent is withdrawn, RuleGate stops future initialization of providers in that category and clears non-essential cookies controlled by RuleGate where technically possible. Provider-specific revocation hooks will be added when providers are introduced. Strictly necessary authentication, security, and consent storage remain.
Browser controls and contact
You can also clear cookies or local storage in browser settings, which may sign you out, reset consent, remove Demo Preview data, or reset preferences. For consent questions, use the RuleGate Contact page or email privacy@rulegate.app.
